Taj Mahal, World's Beautiful Building.

Taj Mahal

Taj Mahal is a beautiful architecture in the world and this is one of the seven wonders of the world.

The Taj Mahal is located in Agra, India. This beautiful building was built by the famous Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan.

The Taj Mahal is constructed beside the south bank of the Yamuna River. The main entrance of the Taj Mahal is from the Yamuna river. In the time of the Mughals, people used to come by ships or boats; the river was the highway at that time. Now the main entrance is different from the Mughals’ time.

Shah Jahan constructed the Taj Mahal in memory of his lovely wife, Mumtaz Mahal.

Mumtaz Mahal was born in 1593 in Agra, India, and she was the daughter of Asaf Khan, who was the nobelman in the Mughal court. Mumtaz Mahal’s birth name was Arjumand Banu Begum. She was known for her charitable work and patronage of the arts, and she supported the construction of the mosque and garden. She is very kind to everyone who is poor and in need.

Mumtaz Mahal married Shah Jahan in 1612. When she was only 19 years old. She was the favourite wife of the Shah. He loved her very much than other wife’s. She accompanied him on his military campaigns and they have 14 children. Mumtaz Mahal died while giving birth to their 14th child, when she was just 38 years old.

Shah Jahan was devastated by Mumtaz’s death and ordered to construct the Taj Mahal in honour of his beloved wife’s memory. The Taj Mahal was built between 1632 and 1653 and took 20 years to complete. Shah Jahan put all his wealth into building the Taj Mahal.

The Taj Mahal is famous for its beautiful architecture and a beautiful Mughal garden with a central water pond.

Taj Mahal is a mixture of Indian, Persian, and Islamic styles of architecture, and it is considered one of the finest examples of Mughal architecture.

The Taj Mahal is made of a special white precious marble and decorated with calligraphy; it consists of a central dome and four minarets as a mosque. The dome is the most prominent feature of the Taj Mahal; it has a height of 73 metres (240 feet) from the ground, and the four minarets are positioned at the corners of the four sides of the main building; their height is 41 metres (135 feet), and they are built slightly tilted away from the main building to prevent them from falling on it in case of an earthquake.

The garden that surrounds the Taj Mahal is also an attractive part of the architecture. The style of the garden is taken from traditional Islamic culture as Charbagh style,” which means four gardens.” This type of garden is described in the Quran as the garden of heaven,” and it has a centre water channel. Same as we can see the style of water channel that is present in the garden of the Taj Mahal and how it reflects the Taj Mahal.

Mosque of Taj Mahal

Mosque

The mosque is made of red sandstone, which is used for daily prayer. It is situated on the west side of the Taj Mahal. This mosque is designed the same as the mosque present in Mecca in Saudi Arabia.

The calligraphy on the Taj Mahal is written with black marble, and it is a mix of Arabic and Persian script taken from the Quran and passages about the rewards of paradise and the mercy of God Allah. Over all, the design and style of the architecture of the Taj Mahal are taken from the Quran.

The tomb of Mumtaz Mahal and Shah Jahan is made with white precious marble and has delicate floral design and inlay work with verses from the Quran inscribed on it. The tomb is oriented towards Mecca. The actual tomb is located in the basement of the Taj Mahal. It designed a complex system of underground passageways and chambers that was used to keep the tomb dry and cool. The tomb of Mumtaz Mahal is covered with the 99 names of Allah in Arabic, which are scripted in the Quran.

Now Taj Mahal is one of the wonder in seven wonder’s of the world.

Taj Mahal is also called a symbol of love and was given by Shah Jahan to his wife, Mumtaz Mahal.

Tourists are attracted to the Taj Mahal because of its beauty, its beautiful architecture, and its beautiful garden.

Twenty thousand to thirty thousand tourists visit the Taj Mahal in a day.
