Shreyas already missed the first Test match of the series against New Zealand.
In Ahmedabad, the Test match between India and Australia Shreyas Iyer was unable to bat as he was suffering from serious back pain. India’s innings ended with the fall of their ninth wicket on the day.
On behalf of Shreyas Iyer, Ravindra Jadeja batted ahead on the third day, but he often used his left hand to break up a largely right-handed order. On the fourth day, Shreyas did not come out to bat even when Ravindra Jadeja was dismissed, and instead he Bharat walked in at number 6, and next R Ashwin, Axar Patel, Umesh Yadav, and Mohammed Shami walked out for Virat Kohli to partner. Virat was the ninth and last batsman dismissed for 186, and India took a 91-run lead.
On the third day, Shreyas was taken to the scans because he complained that he was suffering from serious back pain. The medical team took him for scans.
On Sunday, Shreyas was not present on the ground.

The IPL tournament begins on March 31. The Knight Riders are scheduled to play their first match on April 1.
