Aamir khan starrer Dangal is continuing its winning streak at the Hong Kong Box office since its release on August 24.After it's unbelievable run at the Indian and Chinese box office it was expected the same from the film at the Hong Kong box office.
After release in Hong Kong the movie grossed HK$ 5.2 million during its opening weekend and after its 1st week at the Hong Kong box office, Aamir khan's Dangal has collected HK$ 8.6million(7.04 crores).The figures undoubtedly are extra ordinary and the movie is all set to create some unbeatable records in Hong Kong as well.
The film collected 387.39 crores at the Indian box office.The film now stands with a worldwide collections of 1876.15 crores.The film also tops the chart of all time box office revenue of the highest grossing bollywood movies worldwide, leaving behind the magnum opus Baahubali: The conclusion.The reign of bollywood's successful films in the overseas market is not restricted to Dangal or Baahubali sequel, but films like PK, Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Dhoom 3 and Sultan too have entertained audiences globally adding crores to their kitty, Worldwide.
As per reports, the share of overseas theatricals in the Indian movie business grew by 14 percent from Rs 9.5 billion in 2015 to Rs 10.9 billion last year.And a major contributor to this increase was the successful running of south Indian movies in theatres abroad.Their share went up by around 10 % over the previous year to 62 % of the overseas theatricals in 2016.Especially the main overseas market for Indian films is United States, about 85% of the overseas revenue is collected from US.
In a recent interview, when asked about his Productions, Aamir khan says, "The philosophy is to make content that believe in a practice they have been following for 16 years".They have delivered films like Lagaan, Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na, Delhi Belly and Dangal.
While talking about the business philosophy, Aamir said in a statement "You can never predict how much business a film will make. You have to make what you believe and financially you try and make it on a budget so that you don't lose money".
Aamir next will be seen in "Secret Superstar".It makes the directorial debut of Advait Chandan, who previously worked as an assistant director in films like Honeymoon Travels Pvt Ltd and Kiran Rao's directorial debut Dhobi Ghat.The film is produced by Aamir khan and Kiran Rao and also stars Meher Vij and Raj Arjun in supporting roles.
The film is set to hit the screens this Diwali on 20th October.
